3 TRAILS IN 6 WEEKS

The entire running series takes place over a period of 6 weeks. Specifically, from Monday, March 17th to Sunday, April 27th.
The route changes every 2 weeks. That means you have 2 weeks to complete each route.

  • Every 2 weeks, we'll be running on a different trail route
  • You'll have 2 weeks to complete each trail, and then the next one will be announced
  • There are a total of 3 routes to conquer around and in Salzburg City
  • 2 flat (or flattish) runs and 1 run with elevation gain
  • All trails are technically very easy, but expect roots and stones typical of trail runs
  • Your time will be measured using Strava segments, so you don't need to do much except record your run and sync it with Strava
  • You can run the trail as many times as you want during the 2 weeks to improve your time or even become a Local Legend
  • In the overall ranking, we'll take your best result, and there will also be a ranking for "Local Legends" (most runs per route) over the 6-week period

💡
You can already download the routes in advance and load them onto your watch/smartphone. However, the ranking only counts during the 2 weeks when the route is active.

You need:

  • Register yourself on the club events page: Event Registration
  • A GPS-enabled sports watch or smartphone with the Strava app
  • A Strava account that syncs with your watch or phone

What you need to pay attention to:

  • Accurate recording of your run. Significant GPS errors or cut-off recordings can affect the ranking
  • Your Strava activities to be evaluated must be set to "everyone can see" for the time period
  • You can find this setting in Strava when editing your activity
  • To participate in the Local Legends ranking, you also need to have this enabled on Strava
  • Further notes can be found in the FAQs
⚠️
Heads up!
Your activities must be set to "public" for the duration of the running series and may not be cut off at the start or end of the activity.

If you want to participate in the running series and take part in the scoring, you must register for free on the Trailrunning Community website.

The evaluation period starts for each active route every Monday at 00:00 AM and runs until the second following Sunday at 23:59 PM, exactly 2 weeks.

The following ranking categories are planned:

For both women and men
  • Fastest time per route during the evaluation period
  • Most kilometers per route during the evaluation period (Local Legend)
  • Fastest overall time across all routes (the sum of the fastest time per route)
  • After the 6 weeks, we will have an overall ranking (male and female) which we will announce at a small event (location and date to be announced via email)

Disclaimer: Since the evaluation & analysis is done through Strava, we are dependent on Strava. In the unfortunate case that Strava makes technical changes to its service until the end of the running series, it may be necessary to make provisional changes to the scoring.

How can I win?

There will be a lottery system, so everyone has a chance to win something.

Here are the ways to collect tickets/entries:

  1. Run one of the 3 routes (maximum 1x per route)
  2. Be the fastest in the overall ranking on one of the routes (m/f)
  3. Run a route most often (m/f)
  4. Maybe there will be even more ways to collect tickets? Let yourself be surprised!
